Ben Berry spent many years as a coach of athletes in their formative Junior High School years in the Huntsville area. He began his coaching career at West Huntsville High School in 1949, and in 1952 became the coach at Huntsville Junior High School. Coach Berry retired from coaching in 1984. During his coaching career, Coach Berry tutored many athletes that went on to earn All-State high school honors as well as many future college players. He also coached many of the past and current inductees into The Huntsville-Madison County Athletic Hall of Fame. Coach Berry played his college foothall at Tennessee Tech. in Cookville, TN. Coach Berry also served his country during World War II and saw action in campaigns in North Africa and Italy.
