Paul Parvin began his athletic career at Chapman Middle School. While at Chapman, Paul was a stand out in football, basketball, and baseball. After Chapman, Paul moved on to Lee High School where he starred in football, wrestling, and baseball. Paul was named to the All-City and All-State teams in both football and baseball while at Lee. He also wrestled for the State Championship in the Heavyweight division as a senior at Lee. After graduating from Lee, Paul signed a athletic scholarship to the University of North Alabama. At UNA, Paul lettered in football four times and in baseball twice. He was chosen as the team captain and the Most Valuable Lineman his senior season at UNA. He was also selected as an All-American center.
