Born in Huntsville in 1943...attended Joe Bradley, Westlawn, Butler High and Auburn University...played basketball for Coach Cotton Rogers at Butler from 1960-62...All-district and All-TVC two years, MVP In the Tennessee Valley Conference In 1962, All-State two years.. .MVP in the 1962 Alabama All-Star basketball game...picked by Dale Sports Magazine as top player in the state.. averaged more than 20 points and 10 rebounds in 1961 and 1962...starter at Auburn as a junior and a senior...leading rebounder and second leading scorer as a senior...competed in track and field at Butler, and was the TVC high jump champion and state high jump runnerup in 1962...won the state high jump event in Auburn and Alabama track meet In 1961...Johnson Highs first head basketball coach...now in private business.
