Jim Butler was born in Madison County and attended Butler High School from 1953-1955. Big Jim was the first four-year Football Letter winner at Butler and also lettered four years in Baseball and two years in Basketball. He went to the University of Georgia on a Football Scholarship and later served in the Marine Corps (where he further developed his athletic prowess). He played with the Parker Cubs and later coached several years in the Huntsville Youth Programs. Jim was selected as First Team on the All 1VC teams in 1953 and in 1954 and also earned First Team All State as well as All Southern and All American recognition in football in 1954. This inductee is a member of the FOE, American Legion, Cahaba Temple, Helion Lodge and the Marine Corps League. He is retired from the Computer Sciences Corporation.
