All-State halfback in football for Coach Tom Owens 1966 Huntsville High football team. moved to Huntsville from Nashville...All-City in 1965 and named MPV In the city in 66...as a senior, rushed for 1,300 yards and scored 17 touchdowns...named to the state 4A All-State team In 1966...named to the 47th annual All-Southern high school team...elected to the fourth annual All-American football team, sponsored by Coach and Athlete Magazine.. played in the 1967 Alabama High School All-Star game...played for Coach Paul Bear Bryant at the University of Alabama, lettering three years...played In the 1968 Gator Bowl, the 1969 Liberty Bowl and the 1970 Bluebonnet Bowl. now a Huntsville banker.
