Paul Anderson is one of the all time tennis greats to come out of North Alabama. He was inducted into the Alabama Tennis Hall of Fame in 1986. In 1965, 1966, and 1967, he won the State Singles Title in Alabama for men age 45. Paul also won the Madison County Singles Championship from 1943 -1949. Paul also served the city as the Recreation Supervisor. In this capacity, he furthered tennis in Huntsville by building some of the first municipal soft tennis courts in the state. He also served as an official for football and basketball games in the city for over 25 years.
