The Hall family moved to Huntsville from Washington D.C. when Randy was four years old. The followers of Huntsville High football didnt know it at the time, but they had just been blessed. Randy was to become a standout player for the Crimson Panthers and one of their all-time football greats as a linebacker. He played on one of the great teams that Coach Tom Owens had at Huntsville High. He was a highly recruited player at the conclusion of his high school days. Randy chose Alabama and Bear Bryant as the place to further his education and football career. It was at Alabama where Randy began to amass honors not only on the football field but in the classroom as well. In both his junior and senior years, he was chosen on the Academic All-SEC and Academic All-American teams. In 1974 he became a Pi Beta Kappa and was the winner of the National Football Foundation/College Football Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete Award. He was also chosen as one of the NCAA Top 5 Student Athletes for 1974. Dr. Hall is currently practicing family medicine in Pensacola, Florida. He is active in various medical associations and hasnt forgotten his Crimson Tide connection. He is the president of the University of Alabama Alumni, Pensacola Chapter. Randy feels truly blessed during his playing days to have played for some of the great legendary coaches. He says Coach Owens taught him about preparation and basic fundamentals. Coach Ken Donahue (Alabama Defensive Coordinator) taught him discipline and work ethic. Coach Bryant taught him discipline, winning attitude and how to handle people. The lessons he learned from these great teachers not only helped on the playing field but in life as well. Randy and his wife Karen have two children: Olivia Simone Hall and Jeremy Sean Hall.
